Job description

Resource Label Group is seeking an Outside Sales Consultant that will work to improve RLG's market position and achieve financial growth.
The Outside Sales Consultant will build key customer relationships, identify new business opportunities, negotiate, close business deals and maintain extensive knowledge of current market conditions. This individual will focus on three key areas for sales: New Business Development, Customer Retention and Account Planning. This role is highly collaborative as it requires interaction with various staff throughout the organization, both internal and external.
An ideal candidate will be located in/around the Portland, OR area and have ability to travel and service customers within a diverse territory. Compensation for this role is reflective of an annual base + commission opportunity. Total compensation will vary dependent on individual performance & meeting sales targets.
Responsibilities:
  • Prospect and develop new business through strategic prospecting
  • Develop tactical plans to maintain and expand services with existing and assigned accounts
  • Proactively identify new customers and new project opportunities
  • Act as a liaison between customer and organization throughout the sales and production process
  • Establish high-level relationships and gain a clear understanding of customers' business and requirements
  • Provides regular reporting to management on customer and industry trends, challenges, etc.
  • Updates and maintains sales activity, as well as customer and prospect information within Salesforce CRM
  • Maintain regular contact with customers to answer questions and provide information regarding new products, capabilities, and services
  • Conducts quarterly business reviews
  • Forecast and meet monthly and annual sales targets

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree with 3-5 years of professional experience in selling within printing, packaging or folding cartons.
  • Must have demonstrated experience in applicable vertical markets (ie. food, beverage, wine, pharmaceutical, personal care and household products).
  • Must have a thorough knowledge of printing. Prime label and/or flexible packaging experience is highly preferred.
  • Must have excellent organizational skills, communication skills, and ability to resolve problems.
  • Must have positive demeanor and work well with customers and company employees.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, and drive for extended periods of time as required.
  • Must be highly organized, self-motivated and detail-oriented.
  • Must be driven to succeed and work well in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment.
  • Some travel required within a local market (valid driver's license and acceptable driving record necessary).
