Maintains lab equipment, tools, and supplies. Monitors students during open laboratory sessions for safety and provides tutorial services to students to enhance academic progress and achievement in HVAC courses.
Reporting Relationship
Direct reporting relationship to the Associate Professor/Coordinator, HVAC and Coordinator, Fire Science
Essential Responsibilities
  • Ensures that everyone present in the laboratory is adhering to the appropriate lab and industry safety standards.
  • Communicates with instructional staff and/or department coordinator as appropriate.
  • Assists with coordination of HVAC equipment repairs to the lab equipment.
  • Helps maintain the cleanliness and organization of the HVAC lab.
  • Assists in restocking consumables during and between courses.
  • Assists in preparing simulation displays including the assembly and disassembly of lab equipment and HVAC components.
  • Assists in maintaining and repairing lab equipment as assigned..
Other Duties and Responsibilities Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Some Knowledge of HVAC or experience working in a lab or in the HVAC field.
  • Literate in reading, writing, math, and computation skills as well as computer literate or willing to learn.
  • Good interpersonal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and ability to work with little supervision.
  • Valid Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certificate in HVAC and additional experience working in a laboratory environment is preferred.
