Job description

Doral Health & Wellness is hiring a dedicated Patient Care Technician (PCT) to join our growing dialysis team in Brooklyn, NY. As a PCT technician in our unit, you’ll play a vital role in supporting patients with kidney disease by delivering safe, hands-on care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and Clinical Nurse Manager.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced patient care technician or dialysis technician who thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment and is passionate about patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and prime dialysis machines and extracorporeal circuits.
  • Record and monitor patients' vital signs and weight before, during, and after treatment.
  • Assist with initiating and terminating dialysis treatments under RN supervision.
  • Monitor dialysis parameters, troubleshoot equipment, and report abnormal findings.
  • Obtain and prepare blood samples for lab transport.
  • Ensure proper infection control and safety practices at all times.
  • Support patients with positioning, transfers, and mobility as needed.
  • Collaborate with the care team, including RNs, PCTs, and dialysis technicians, to deliver high-quality care.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Certified Patient Care Technician (PCT) or Dialysis Technician (state-approved or nationally recognized program).
  • Current CPR certification (or must obtain within 60 days of hire).
  • Previous dialysis or PCT technician experience preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, teamwork, and communication skills.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is highly preferred.
