The Guzman-Velez Lab at Rutgers University (PI: Edmarie Guzman-Velez, PhD) is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Associate to join a multidisciplinary research program focused on brain health and dementia risk. The lab integrates epidemiological, clinical, neuropsychological, biological, and intervention-based approaches to understand and mitigate risk for Alzheimer's disease and related dementias (ADRD). The postdoctoral associate will contribute to ongoing and new research projects, collaborate with investigators across disciplines, and contribute to grant writing and manuscript development in a stimulating, supportive, and mentored environment. At a minimum, responsibilities will include assisting with the design and execution of research studies; analyzing datasets; preparing manuscripts; presenting findings at scientific conferences and local meetings; assisting the PI with mentoring trainees as appropriate; contributing to grant and fellowship applications; collecting data; and participating in community events associated with the lab's research and mission. In addition, Dr. Guzman-Velez will strongly encourage and provide mentorship in grant and fellowship applications.

Minimum Education and Experience
  • PhD, MD, or equivalent doctoral degree in neuroscience, biostatistics, neuro-immunology, biomedical science, psychology, epidemiology, or a related field.

  • Interest and experience in aging, dementia, brain health, health disparities, neuro-immunology, long COVID, neuropsychology, or related research.
