Lab Technician

The Lab Technician is an integral member of the Trialco Operations team and will report to the Quality Manager and Quality Supervisor. In addition to Lab testing, the Lab Technician position is expected to interact with all operations personnel who interact with the Lab.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Optimizing spectrometers [Optical Emission Spectrometry (OES) metal analyzers] for measuring specific alloys.
  • Determining appropriate alloy standards / reference materials required for measurement of produced alloys.
  • Verifying chemistries of produced alloys (including small alloys containing silicon (Si), magnesium (Mg), manganese (Mn), and titanium (Ti).
  • Verifying chemistries of incoming and outgoing materials.
  • Determining chemistries of miscellaneous/test material sent by other companies.
  • Maintaining and verifying lab equipment functionality.
  • Basic lab housekeeping.

Where required:

  • Visually inspecting aluminum alloy ingot and sow surface condition/quality,
  • Verifying printed label weights for ingot bundles and sows, ensuring accuracy.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager or upper management.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • High School Diploma
  • Experience working within a manufacturing operation.
