Job description

Description
Process Engineer
About the Role
GEOTEK manufactures engineered fiberglass composite structures for utility infrastructure using continuous manufacturing processes- pultrusion and filament winding. We've been doing it for over 30 years and we're growing.
We're hiring a Process Engineer to own process development and improvement on our manufacturing floor. This is a hands-on engineering role. You'll be running trials, troubleshooting production issues, designing fixtures and tooling in SolidWorks, and driving CI projects from idea through implementation. You'll work closely with operations and support the broader engineering team.
If you want a desk job, this isn't it. If you want to own processes end-to-end at a company that's actually building things, keep reading.
What You'll Do
  • Lead process development projects from equipment and tooling design through production launch
  • Own continuous improvement initiatives: identify problems, build the project plan, drive resolution
  • Support manufacturing operations with root cause analysis and technical troubleshooting
  • Design fixtures and tooling in SolidWorks
  • Develop and maintain work instructions, troubleshooting guides, and process documentation
  • Scope and manage capital projects - new equipment, new tooling, process upgrades
  • Use our test lab to optimize product designs for performance and manufacturability
  • Support off-shift trials when needed
  • Coach and train operations crews on processes and equipment

What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (mechanical, manufacturing, chemical, or materials preferred); GPA 3.25+
  • 2-4 years of hands-on process engineering experience in a continuous manufacturing environment (extrusion, pultrusion, injection molding, filament winding, or similar)
  • SolidWorks proficiency: parts, assemblies, drawings, GD&T per ANSI Y14.5
  • You can work from a goal, break it into tasks, and execute without needing to be managed
  • Strong communicator across all levels - line operators to executives
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and consistent with documentation

You'll Stand Out If
  • You have experience with composite materials or thermoset resin systems (polyester, vinyl-ester, urethane)
  • You've worked in filament winding or pultrusion specifically
  • You bring Lean, Six Sigma, or structured CI methodology

Physical Work Conditions
Time should be split between the floor and the office or meeting rooms ranging anywhere from 25% to 75% on the production floor or engineering labs. While working on the floor there will be work with and around moving machinery, fumes and chemicals. Office work requires sitting at a desk, using a computer and phone.
The compensation range for this position is $74,386 - $102,280. Final offers may vary based on several factors, including experience, skills, and qualifications. The posted range represents the expected earning potential for this position within the current organizational budget and market conditions.

The company has grown PUPI® into the leading global provider of fiberglass crossarms and is committed to adding and developing other market-leading composite brands for the world's infrastructure. The company was founded in 1990 to manufacture and market Common Sense Fencing and other pultruded fiberglass products. Using proprietary processes and several patented inventions, GEOTEK manufactures and distributes engineered fiberglass composites that are used by the transmission and distribution power lines and substations. The company is well positioned for sustained growth and profitability through market expansion and new product offerings.
