The Opportunity
ConvenientMD is seeking a Lab Technician to join our growing laboratory team. In this role, you'll play a critical part in delivering high-quality diagnostic testing that supports patient care across our Urgent Care, Advanced Primary Care, and Specialty Care services. Reporting to the Laboratory Manager, you'll perform a wide range of laboratory tests to detect genetic materials in biological samples, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with all quality and safety standards.
Your Impact
  • Laboratory Testing & Analysis
    • Perform specialized molecular diagnostic testing (PCR) and blood work (CBC) with precision and consistency.
    • Prepare and process biological samples, including DNA and RNA extraction, ensuring accuracy and integrity throughout all testing stages.
    • Analyze experimental data, interpret results, and meticulously document findings in accordance with lab protocols.
    • Accurately enter test results into the Lab Information System (LIS/Dendi) and maintain the daily lab dashboard and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Quality & Compliance
    • Maintain the highest standards of quality control to ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results.
    • Follow all established laboratory protocols, manufacturer recommendations, and regulatory guidelines (CLIA, COLA, NH DHHS).
    • Support preparation and readiness for annual inspections and ongoing licensure requirements.
  • Equipment & Inventory Management
    • Operate, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments to maintain optimal functionality.
    • Prepare necessary reagents and solutions for testing procedures.
    • Manage inventory and ordering through the Inventory and Ordering Software (ENVI), ensuring adequate supplies for testing operations.
  • Collaboration & Communication
    • Work closely with Urgent Care, Advanced Primary Care, and external partners to address specimen handling or collection issues.
    • Maintain open communication with the Lab Manager/General Supervisor, Technical Supervisor, and Lab Director to ensure operational alignment.
    • Foster a culture of internal and external customer service, teamwork, and shared accountability across all lab functions.
  • Safety & Environment
    • Uphold a clean, organized, and contamination-free workspace.
    • Ensure all safety practices and lab hygiene standards are followed at all times to support a safe and efficient working environment.
Who You Are
  • Experience:
    • Experienced in laboratory operations, testing, and molecular diagnostics (minimum 2 years direct clinical lab experience with PCR).
    • Knowledgeable in lab equipment, supplies, and quality control processes.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, Biological Sciences, or a related field.
  • Driven and self-motivated:Able to function and execute independently with little direction while adhering to established policies and procedures.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented: Capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Technically skilled:Proficient in data analysis, documentation, and laboratory information systems (LIS experience preferred).
  • Strong communicator and collaborator: Thrives in a team-oriented setting and builds positive working relationships across departments.
  • Committed to compliance and safety: Dedicated to maintaining compliance with all regulatory and safety standards.
  • Schedule: 40 hours per week, which includes 8am-5pm shifts on both Saturday and Sundays, as well as three 8am-5pm shifts on weekdays.
