Job Opportunity
Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled Surgical Scrub Technician with a strong background in open heart procedures. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of two years of recent open heart surgery experience and have the ability to function autonomously in a surgical environment.
Shift Information
This is a full-time, 10-hour day shift position, with the expectation to take call approximately 50% of the time, typically for a full week at a time.
Key Responsibilities
  • Scrub in on open heart surgeries both independently and in collaboration with another scrub technician.
  • Assist in the preparation of the operating room and maintain a sterile environment.
  • Be willing to teach and train Registered Nurses in surgical techniques and procedures.
  • Participate in general operating room cases, including but not limited to robotic, orthopedic, urological, and gynecological procedures.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent open heart experience.
  • Proven ability to scrub open heart cases in a solo capacity.
  • Experience with EPIC electronic medical record system.
  • Willingness to take on training responsibilities for nursing staff.
  • Experience in general operating room cases is preferred.
