Responsibilities

The Clinical Neurodiagnostic (CND) Assistant will support specific clinical neurophysiology areas within the Department of Neurology. These areas include Autonomics, Electroencephalography (EEG), Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU), Neurology Gait Lab, Interoperative Neurophysiology Monitoring (IONM), and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS). The CND assistant will be cross trained in multiple areas of the practice based on departmental need. 


Qualifications

The minimum education requirement is a high school diploma or GED. Minimum of one year of patient care experience required or current student in the Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences Clinical Neurophysiology Technology Program. Requires computer skills including Windows based applications. Ability to navigate through multiple applications and platforms with ease.

Preferred experience includes roles such as desk operations specialist, nursing assistant, patient care assistant, procedural support assistant, or licensed practical nurse. Previous experience in Neurology preferred. Proficiency with electronic health records is preferred. Strong ability to work independently, remain goal-oriented, and maintain excellent organizational skills. Capable of effectively managing multiple tasks simultaneously without compromising quality or patient care.

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including proper telephone etiquette, professional face-to-face interactions, and effective electronic correspondence. Proven ability to communicate confidently and credibly with individuals and small groups. Exhibit a friendly, positive demeanor and bring energy and motivation to daily responsibilities. Skilled in handling challenging situations, staying composed under pressure, demonstrating empathy, and maintaining constructive communication in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. 

Adept at transforming problems into opportunities by crafting innovative and creative solutions. Flexible and adaptable to evolving work environments, with a commitment to continuous learning and skill development. Open to adjusting work schedules to accommodate departmental or clinical needs.
