Job description

Cath Lab Technologist

Location: Reno, NV

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: 4x10, Rotating Shifts, M-F. Call requirements include 1 night during the week and 1 weekend call shift Saturday and Sunday every 5 weeks.

Job Description: The Cath Lab Technologist is responsible for producing optimal diagnostic images while providing excellent patient care in the Diagnostic Interventional Department. The incumbent will work with patients across a variety of age groups, demonstrating the ability to address their physical, cognitive, and psychosocial needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate interventional imaging equipment and related machinery.
  • Verify and execute physician's orders for diagnostic and therapeutic exams.
  • Perform as first assist to the Interventional Cardiologist, Vascular Surgeon, or Interventional Radiologist.
  • Set up sterile trays and maintain the sterility of the room.
  • Regulate patient flow and consult with radiologists to determine contrast media applications.
  • Evaluate exam quality and implement necessary corrections for improved image quality.
  • Assist in performing various procedures including suturing and circulating during interventions.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

  • Minimum of 2 years of Cath Lab Tech experience required.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) R.T. (R) certification or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) required.
  • State of Nevada Radiation Control Program License required.
  • Certifications in AHA, BLS, and ACLS are mandatory.
