This opportunity is open to students currently enrolled in Civil Engineering Technology programs, early-career professionals, and experienced Materials Technicians who are looking to contribute to a strong Construction Services team. You enjoy working in both field and laboratory environments and take pride in producing accurate, high-quality results. Success in this role means supporting safe, efficient project delivery while continuing to build technical expertise and share knowledge within the team

A Day in the Life

Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assist the Field Lead in conducting field and laboratory testing of soils, aggregate, and concrete
  • Perform a variety of materials testing in both lab and field environments
  • Support the coordination of on-site laboratory testing facilities
  • Assist with maintaining laboratory certifications and quality standards
  • Communicate test results and provide technical input to internal teams and external clients
  • Work collaboratively with cross-disciplinary teams to meet project schedules and quality expectations
  • Ensure safety procedures are followed at all times in the field and lab
  • Coordinate field equipment and assist with routine maintenance and calibration of testing instruments
  • Support and learn from senior staff while contributing to team success

What You’ll Bring to the Team

  • Enrollment in, or completion of, a Civil Engineering Technology diploma (asset, not required)
  • Previous lab or field experience in materials testing is an asset; students and entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply
  • CCIL and/or CSA certifications are preferred but not required
  • Strong attention to detail and technical aptitude
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work safely and effectively in field conditions
  • Willingness to learn, take direction, and grow within a collaborative environment
