The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Medicine has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Research Analyst 1 to work in the UHealth Campus.

Core Job Summary
The Research Analyst 1 prepares data, conducts statistical analysis, and summarizes results for a variety of research projects.
Core Responsibilities

  • Analyzes data and interprets research findings.
  • Identifies appropriate data sources to conduct and execute analyses.
  • Verifies accuracy and internal consistency of reports, including required state and federal reports.
  • Ensures proper technical documentation and preparation of tabular and written reports and gives oral presentations.
  • Completes surveys and reports, discipline-specific accreditation, and admission and grant proposals.
  • Provides feedback and assistance on honing conclusions and recommendations into actionable findings.
  • Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

Core Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in relevant field required
Minimum 1 year of relevant experience require


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience with coding software packages (SAS, R, Python) and data preparation for data analysis and visualization

Department Specific Functions

  • Works under the supervision of the Research Data Manager and guidance of Principal Investigators and Project Directors to support research data management, quality assurance, analysis, and reporting activities.
  • Responds to data queries in a timely manner.
  • Develops data collection instruments in RedCap, Qualtrics, and Excel or other survey collection tools for study protocols and operations.
  • Applies strong clinical research data management skills to support ongoing studies and operations.
  • Adapts to shifting priorities across multiple research studies.
  • Maintains data dictionaries, coding manuals, and documentation of data management and analytical procedures.
  • Records study procedures and results in participant binders and databases according to study protocols.
  • Conducts routine quality assurance/control reviews on research databases Ensures the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of clinical research data.
  • Maintains knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), Human Subjects Research, and institutional policies
  • Prepares, merges, validates, and cleans research datasets for analysis and reporting.
  • Identifies and extracts data from appropriate internal and external data sources to support study objectives.
  • Assists investigators with data requests and development of analytic datasets for abstracts, manuscripts, presentations, and grant applications.
  • Conducts descriptive and basic statistical analyses of research data.
  • Assists in interpreting findings and preparing/presenting summaries, tables, and reports for investigators, sponsors, and regulatory submissions.
  • Supports development of concept sheets, grant submissions, progress reports (e.g., RPPRs, Continuing Reviews, study performance), manuscripts, and presentations through data extraction and analyses.

Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets. Performs other duties as assigned.
