Job description

Department: Laboratory
Work Hours: rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
The Laboratory Processing Technician II is responsible for the performance of EKGs, collection of specimens within the employee's scope of training including legal specimen collection, and preparation of all specimen types. Assists with patient registration, laboratory report distribution and other clerical duties. Mans and troubleshoots the pre-analytical automation as assigned. Provides training and/or orientation for internal employees and external customers. Promotes and maintains a professional manner in all situations.
Requirements
Four year high school graduate or GED equivalent with phlebotomy or Medical Assistant Training and ACT 169 clearance.
Successful completion of Acts 73 and/or 169 clearances within 90 days of commencing employment, if applicable.
Preferred: A.S.C.P. certification in phlebotomy
