About the role
The Lab Pack Technician I is responsible for assisting in the proper segregation, packaging of chemicals into DOT approved containers and affixing the required DOT markings/labels, as directed by leadership. Segregation and packaging shall be performed according to DOT and Reworld acceptance guidelines and lab pack protocol.
Position Responsibilities
  • Safe and compliant execution of lab pack projects/jobs and the proper packaging of hazardous, non-hazardous, universal wastes and off-specification commercial products.
  • Responsible for ensuring the proper paperwork, marking, and labeling is affixed to the containers being managed.
  • Manage time and workload individually at customer sites, including but not limited to hospitals, universities, and labs.
  • Assists in the loading and unloading of materials from projects.
  • Acts as a representative of Reworld while acting in an autonomous manner at a customer site.
  • Assists in the management of lab pack processing at Reworld and evaluation of wastes prior to processing.
  • Maintain a neat and clean working environment.
  • Comply with OSHA health and safety rules.
  • Perform de-pack activities at Avon location as directed and required. Including but not limited to waste consolidation and pour-off.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Maintains clean driving record and a valid Driver's license.
  • Ability to effectively communicate via written and verbal methods.
  • Obtain and keep current all required certifications but not limited to 40-hour HAZWOPER, RCRA, and DOT.
  • Requires frequent travel to customer sites with occasional overnight travel, up to 15%.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Higher education in Chemistry or related field.
  • 1-2 years of relevant work experience.

Physical Demands of the Role
  • Ability to walk, stand, sit, and climb
  • Ability to lift/carry 50lbs
  • Ability to work from heights and in confined spaces
  • Qualify to wear a full-face respirator
  • Consistently work in various weather conditions

Pay Transparency
Reworld is committed to paying its staff equitably, and we strive to provide competitive compensation and benefits packages. The range below reflects Reworld's reasonable estimate of base pay for this role based on primary posting location. It is expected that most qualified candidates in this location will fall within the posting range. The final salary offered for this role will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to: experience, education, geographic location, skills and competencies, travel requirements and/or union contracts (if applicable). Pay ranges are reviewed from time to time and may be modified in the future.
The pay range for the primary location of this position is: 18.85 - 25.05 USD per hour
