The Position

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Senior Lab Supervisor to manage the daily operations of R&D laboratories. You, as an ideal candidate, can follow procedures and demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills to ensure smooth, efficient, and compliant lab operations. In this role, you will maintain a safe and organized lab environment supporting the R&D lab users.

The Opportunity

In this role, you will serve as the primary operational liaison for laboratory users while ensuring strict adherence to regulatory standards and safety protocols.

  • Coordinate day-to-day R&D laboratory operations, facility projects, and service request tickets while serving as the primary point of contact for stakeholders.
  • Oversee vendor management, including relationship building, service technician escorts, and the procurement and inventory of lab supplies, reagents, and equipment.
  • Direct the maintenance, calibration, validation, and repair of laboratory equipment, using usage data to anticipate maintenance needs and capital purchases.
  • Enforce lab safety protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs) in partnership with the Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) team to ensure full compliance.
  • Maintain complete, audit-ready laboratory documentation, including equipment logs, safety manuals, and digital records, while preparing performance and resource utilization reports.
  • Conduct regular lab inspections and audits to proactively identify and resolve potential safety hazards or compliance gaps.
  • Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation for controlled temperature storage alarms, providing after-hours onsite support and content relocation when required.
Who You Are
  • Bachelor's degree in Biological/Life Sciences, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field (or an equivalent combination of education and work experience).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in an IVD/ISO regulated laboratory environment, with strong knowledge of lab safety procedures and hazard controls.

  • Proven background with audits and deep familiarity with requirements/controls for IVD product development labs (e.g., ISO 13485, GLP, GDocP).
  • Strong organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, laboratory facility projects, and ticketing systems simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills for effective cross-functional collaboration with internal teams and external vendors.
  • Familiarity with equipment management systems (e.g., SAP, RAM) and digital laboratory management tools is preferred.

The expected salary range for this position based on California is 81,200.00 - 133 400.00 USD Annually. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
