Assay Laboratory Technician, Metallurgy - Tucson, AZ

Intertek, a leading provider of quality and safety solutions to many of the world's top-recognized brands and companies, is actively seeking a Laboratory Technician to join our Minerals team in Tucson, AZ. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow a versatile career in Metallurgy and Materials Sciences.

Intertek Minerals provides geochemical assay and testing services, minerals inspection and trade services to support the minerals and mining supply chain globally from grassroots exploration to final product shipment. With industry-recognized technical expertise and an established global network, Intertek offers end to end Total Quality Assurance across our clients' entire resource development chain.

What are we looking for?

The Assay Laboratory Technician is responsible for materials testing processes, weighing samples, sample digestion, DIBK, diluting solution samples, AA readings, handling and preparing samples, and providing written analysis in a laboratory environment. The ideal candidate for the Assay Laboratory Technician role will have a desire to work in learning environment, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work independently and/or in a team setting.

Shift/Schedule: Standard office hours, Monday-Friday

What you'll do:

  • The Assay Laboratory Technician will report to the Laboratory Supervisor and is responsible for supporting lab operations on a day-to-day basis
  • Receipt samples, Log in and sorting samples
  • Data entry (samples inventory)
  • Weighing samples
  • Acid digestion-for basic metals
  • DIBK-gold analysis
  • Diluting solution samples for AA and ICP

  • Sorting samples
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:

  • High school Diploma or GED required
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
