Job description

Nursing Skills And Simulation Laboratory Manager

The Nursing Skills and Simulation Laboratory Manager is responsible for the overall operation, coordination, and management of the nursing skills and simulation laboratory. The position ensures a safe, organized, and effective learning environment by overseeing laboratory resources, equipment, personnel, and simulation activities that support student learning and program outcomes within Nursing and other School of Health Sciences programs. This is a Safety Sensitive position pursuant to Oklahoma Statute OKLA. STAT. tit. 63, § 427.8 (2020).

Essential Duties

Manage the daily operations of the nursing skills and simulation laboratory, ensuring a safe, organized, and effective learning environment. Oversee set up of lab equipment and supplies for simulation and skill-based learning activities. Oversee open lab sessions to reinforce classroom and clinical instruction by providing guidance and ensuring students practice skills using evidence-based techniques. Provide secondary simulation and clinical lab support for other School of Health Sciences programs (e.g., Respiratory, Dental Hygiene, Radiography, PTA, OTA) as scheduling and program needs allow. Oversee maintenance of laboratory equipment, simulators, supplies, and inventory; coordinate repairs, maintenance, and replacement of equipment as needed. Train, supervise, and evaluate laboratory staff, simulation technicians, work-study students, or other personnel assigned to the laboratory. Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, inventory, laboratory usage, budget oversight and student participation as required. Participate in departmental meetings, committees, professional development, and other duties as assigned. Ensure compliance with safety, infection control, and regulatory standards specific to nursing education, simulation best practices, and accreditation expectations. Assist with data collection, documentation, and reporting related to Nursing accreditation, program review, and clinical hour substitution requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree of Science in Nursing. Must be a registered Nurse. Three years experience as a Registered Nurse. Ability to meet Performance Standards of Nursing Program - stand for extended periods of time, push/pull, or lift/carry 20 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications

One year experience in managing or supervising. Experience in simulation operations, clinical lab management, or healthcare education. Relevant clinical experience supporting nursing or allied health education.
