Experience
Completion of Medical Lab Technician or Licensed Practical Nurse Program

Education
Medical Lab Technician or Licensed Practical Nurse


Licensure
Current License in Louisiana as a Medical Laboratory Technician - Clinical Laboratory Scientist or LPN License

1.ย ย ย Compliance Review
a.ย ย ย Oversee and implement Point of Care Testing at Clinics which maintain a CLIA Certificate of Waiver.
b.ย ย ย Assist with initial CLIA Applications to CMS
c.ย ย ย Prepare Laboratory Procedure and Quality Control Manuals based upon POCT Menu
d.ย ย ย Assess POCT needs to determine POCT menu.
e.ย ย ย Assist with ordering POCT supplies and staging equipment in clinics.
f.ย ย ย Assists with workflow issues in regard to POCT.


2.ย ย ย Training and Performance Improvement
a.ย ย ย Train all new POC testing personnel as needed by including Initial and Annual Competency assessment. Assign annual POCT competencies in Health Stream to testing personnel.
b.ย ย ย Visit physician clinics monthly for record review and problem-solving sessions. Provide troubleshooting assistance to staff having QC/QA problems with methods or instruments.
c.ย ย ย Communicate results to managers and recommend follow-up plan for regulatory compliance. Report compliance issues for corrective actions.
d.ย ย ย Assist in determining need for new methodologies for POCT.


3.ย ย ย Other Duties as Assigned
