Description of Job Duties and Responsibilities
The Office Assistant provides essential support to the College of Nursing by serving as a first point of contact for students, faculty, and visitors. This position helps ensure smooth daily operations by managing communications, maintaining supplies, and assisting with lab access and departmental events.
  • Greet and direct students and visitors in a professional and helpful manner.
  • Answer incoming phone calls and respond to voicemail messages in a timely manner.
  • Monitor and respond to departmental emails; route inquiries appropriately.
  • Maintain office supply inventory and submit requests for replenishment.
  • Assist with open hours in the skills lab and simulation lab by providing access and ensuring basic readiness of spaces.
  • Perform general clerical duties including filing, copying, scanning, and document organization.
  • Support planning and execution of departmental events, meetings, and functions.
  • Assist with preparations and logistics for student orientations.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student and departmental information at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the College of Nursing's mission and operations.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and general computer usage.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
