Job description

Join a team where hands-on logistics work, attention to detail, and safety-focused operations are essential to keeping supply chain activities running smoothly. This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable working in a physically active environment, handling inbound and outbound freight, and ensuring accuracy in documentation and product handling.

As a Logistics Technician, you will play a key role in loading and unloading product, verifying shipments, supporting quality and food safety standards, and maintaining accurate records across all logistics activities.

Duties:
Including but not limited to:

  • Operate safely in all facility environments and follow all safety procedures and policies
  • Load and unload trucks, railcars, totes, and containers according to established standards
  • Climb and work at heights on semi-trailers and railcars in all weather conditions (extreme heat and cold)
  • Complete shipping and receiving logs, records, and documentation for all shipments
  • Conduct initial lab checks on inbound product to verify quality standards are met
  • Verify freight bills and shipping documentation accuracy
  • Prepare and review packing lists, bills of lading, and related shipping paperwork
  • Maintain cleanliness of truck bays, tank farm areas, and operational workspaces
  • Receive parts and supplies and maintain accurate inventory records
  • Enter and maintain customer and shipment data in internal data systems
  • Support customer sample requests and related coordination needs
  • Operate material handling equipment safely (forklifts, telehandler, pallet jacks)
  • Operate company vehicles safely, including box trucks
  • Wear required PPE at all times (hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toed boots)
  • Use fall protection systems when required
  • Cross-train with production and assist with general plant operations and maintenance as needed
  • Properly package and prepare products for shipment according to regulatory and industry standards
  • Respond to after-hours operational calls when required
  • Support food safety and occupational safety compliance at all times
  • Participate in required training programs and company initiatives
  • Provide professional customer service via phone and email, including documentation support


Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong attention to detail, especially when reviewing freight documentation and product quality requirements
  • Ability to work in physically demanding environments and remain on feet for extended periods
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with internal teams and external partners
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues related to shipments, documentation, and logistics processes
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain accurate records
  • Strong interpersonal skills and customer service mindset
  • Commitment to safety, integrity, and consistent adherence to procedures and standards
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs regularly
  • Valid driver’s license required; ability to obtain a chauffeur’s license if needed
  • Ability to work in a regulated environment following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)


Education & Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Prior experience in logistics, warehouse operations, manufacturing, or industrial environments preferred
  • Experience operating forklifts or similar material handling equipment preferred


Work Environment:

  • Industrial, non-climate-controlled environment with exposure to varying weather conditions
  • Frequent physical activity, including lifting, climbing, and standing for long periods
  • Required use of safety PPE, including protective footwear, eyewear, and gloves when applicable
