Job description

This Laboratory courier position requires a detailed, oriented driver that can operate a courier route by picking up samples from facilities and/or other phlebotomists in a timely manner. 

Hours:7 to 3pm


Candidate must be a reliable, confident and safe driver.

REPORTS TO:  Off-Site Logistics Manager

STATUS:  Non-Exempt

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Keep records of all pick-ups and drop-offs.
  • Ensure car maintenance is up to date.
  • Comply with safe driving precautions.
  • Maintain care ensuring cleanliness.
  • Ability to quickly respond to pick up and delivery of samples.
  • Must have open availability.
  • Must be able to utilize navigation systems (Google Maps, Apple Maps, etc.) & other mobile applications to locate pick up and drop off locations.
  • Must adhere to strict attendance guidelines.
  • Must comply with all HIPPA guidelines.
  • Must comply with all company health and safety guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned.

         Data Entry

         Keeping office and lab area clean

         Performing other office duties as assigned

         The job requires handling clinical specimens

MINIMUM REQUIREMENT:

  • Good oral and written communication.
  • Current valid driver's license.

         Must have good communication and writing skills

         Proficient in Microsoft office

         Detailed oriented

         Flexible schedule availability.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • One year of prior job-related experience preferred.
  • Previous courier experience.

EDUCATION:

         High School Diploma

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

 

         Ability to lift to 50lbs.

         Must be able to sit for long periods of time.

         Must be able to drive for long periods of time.

         Ability to wear laboratory personal protective equipment (PPE) 3-6 hours out of the day.

ENVIRONMENT:

 

         Frequently exposed to the elements.

         Subjected to driving in inclement weather conditions.
