Ignite Your Passion for Precision in the Lab: Join a Thriving Diagnostic Team by the Cultural Heart of Pittsburgh
Overview
We are on the lookout for a Clinical Laboratory Technician who fuses passion with meticulousness-a professional devoted to elevating patient care, one specimen at a time. In this full-time, first-shift position at a dynamic community hospital nestled near the vibrant cultural epicenter of Pittsburgh, you'll play a key role in generating transformative diagnostic findings. Collaborating with motivated colleagues, you'll benefit from an extensive rewards package meant to nurture both your professional journey and personal well-being.
What You Will Do
  • Conduct routine as well as specialized clinical laboratory tests on samples, including chemistry, hematology, immunology, and more, adhering to defined protocols.
  • Evaluate results for accuracy, troubleshoot issues, and carry out preventative maintenance and calibration on laboratory instruments.
  • Assist in specimen collection and prepare samples for analysis as necessary.
  • Ensure all procedures are meticulously documented, train incoming staff or students, and maintain high quality standards in the lab.
  • Promote a clean and safe working environment in accordance with regulatory codes and accreditation requirements.
Education
  • A Bachelor's degree in Clinical or Medical Laboratory Science, or an equivalent allied health degree, with ASCP/AMT certification preparation encouraged.
Certifications
  • ASCP or AMT Board of Certification in Clinical Laboratory Science (CLS) must be obtained within one year of employment.
  • Maintain your certification throughout your employment with us.
Skills
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to foster effective teamwork within the healthcare setting.
  • The ability to exercise independent judgment and solve problems in fast-paced or high-pressure situations.
  • Impeccable organizational skills and a keen eye for detail, especially in quality control and documentation.
Benefits

  • Access to comprehensive and market-competitive benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance.
  • Start accumulating generous time off from day one, including vacation and holiday allowances with consideration for prior experience.
  • Opportunities for continuing education and support for professional advancement.
  • A thorough total rewards package emphasizing your overall wellness.

Linking Numbers to Meaningful Lives
Within these lab walls, your precision transforms the lives of patients. A single slide may clarify a potential infection and the necessity for antibiotics, while another test can uncover a metabolic issue before it manifests. Your expertise ensures the kind of accuracy that healthcare professionals and patients depend on every single day.
An Environment Built on Collaboration
This isn't merely a job-it's a community of shared goals and achievements. You will join a team focused on continuous improvement. Regular in-lab meetings, skills refreshers, and initiatives to enhance processes encourage an environment where every voice is heard. You'll be encouraged to engage in committees, offer process suggestions, and mentor new colleagues.

Imagine yourself in a city that effortlessly blends cultural vibrancy with a scenic riverside layout-tree-lined streets boasting stunning views of the skyline, markets overflowing with local produce, and annual festivals that celebrate the arts. Quaint cafes become the backdrop for vibrant conversations, and weekends might find you exploring the city's storied neighborhoods or catching a performance at a local theater. The community here is welcoming, forging bonds that resonate deeply throughout the healthcare landscape.
A wealth of activities awaits you-immersive gallery shows, winding hiking trails, and the buzz of local sports. With convenient transport links, your commute is shorter, facilitating a fulfilling work-life harmony. The cost of living is approachable, allowing your compensation to span not only bills but leisurely adventures, wine tours, and lively weekend gatherings.
Building a Legacy Through Health
In this community, each lab technician plays a crucial role-an essential guardianship of public health. You'll witness the ripple effects of your efforts; quicker diagnoses, improved patient care, and overall satisfaction thrum through the voices of those you serve. If you aspire to something beyond a conventional paycheck-if you're motivated by purpose, self-discovery, and the desire to make a community impact-this position is calling to you. Whether you're freshly certified or bringing valuable experience, this role offers the support and opportunities you've been seeking.
Are You Ready to Turn Your Skills into Health Solutions?
Take your next step into a role where your careful craftsmanship intersects with a community embracing both innovation and warmth-a place where each lab result contributes to real-life tales of recovery. If precision, teamwork, and genuine care inspire you, we can't wait to connect with you.
