Position Summary Information
Job Description Summary:
The ECE Lab Assistant helps maintain and support the Electrical and Computer Engineering instructional labs. This role involves organizing lab spaces, preparing course materials and kits, checking parts and inventory, testing equipment, and assisting with lab setup and maintenance. The position is ideal for students interested in hands-on technical work, electronics, computer systems, and supporting a safe and effective lab environment.
Requirements:
  • Must be enrolled as a student in the ECE Department.
  • Maintain and organize lab spaces, parts, tools, and supplies.
  • Track inventory and help prepare lab kits for courses and projects.
  • Set up lab stations, equipment, and instructional materials.
  • Test, calibrate, and check lab instruments and hardware.
  • Assist with PC software installation, updates, and troubleshooting.
  • Support Linux OS imaging, patching, and maintenance.
  • Move equipment and supplies as needed for lab operations.
  • Report damaged, missing, or malfunctioning equipment.
  • Support faculty, teaching assistants, and lab staff with other lab-related tasks as assigned.
