About the Role:Job SummaryResponsible for the day to day operations of the clinical laboratory. Including but not limited to technical operations, performance improvement, safety, credentialing and human resources management of the laboratory. Responsible for the financial management of the lab including budgeting and cost control and containment.
Licensure or other certifications: Meets the requirements of the State of Georgia.
Educational Requirements: Bachelors in Medical Technology or a related science.
Minimum Experience: Two (2) years lab management experience.

Monitors overall efficiency, productivity and financial indicators of the Lab. Submits productivity, staffing and variance reports as requested.
Investigates variance reports and complaints by Physicians and provide outline for corrective action.
Manages labor and supply budgets and prepares an annual budget.
Develop costs reduction strategies.
Manages the laboratory safety program. Develop, implement and monitor lab EOC and chemical hygiene plans.
Coordinate monthly hazard rounds and safety of the lab.
Evaluate safety incidents and variance reports with Worker Compensation and Risk management action plans and evaluate effectiveness.
Provide continuing education and reviews overall knowledge of the staff.
Conducts and attend monthly lab safety committee and environment care meetings.
Assists with performance improvement efforts. Collaborates and coordinates site specific and monitors PI.
Establishes performance improvement initiatives. Coordinates Lean/six sigma projects pertaining to the lab.
Coordinates all regulatory duties and credentialing with accreditation agencies. Reviews accreditation standards and develops plans for compliance.
Coordinate all inspection processes and functions.
Coordinates licensure renewals and correspondence with the state of Georgia and the college of American Pathologist.
Responsible for interviewing, hiring, and training new employees as well as coaching, training, developing and grooming potential future laboratory leaders.
Responsible for integrating the strategic plan of the organization with the site specific operations of the laboratory and in this capacity provides management oversight for the development of high quality, cost effective and integrated patient assessment operations within the laboratory.
Assist with implementation of new tests, equipment, programs and/or procedures in the assigned areas. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to increase quality of services, operational efficiency and financial growth of the laboratory.
Sales Management. Ensure good communication flow to Main Campus Lab Sales, Lab Customer Service, Lab Billing, Lab IT and the Specimen Processing departments. All these area must work together to maintain a happy Outpatient client base. Coordinate with Contract Courier for issues or problems.
Revenue Cycle Enhancements. Assist Laboratory Director on the monitoring and minimization of claim denials. When there is a pattern of denials implement a corrective action plan to prevent the denials.
