About the role

We are looking for a Senior IT Business Analyst to join our team at the Intact Data Lab. Our data science lab is one of the largest in the country. We have big ambitions and want you to be part of them. Will you join us?

What you'll do here:


  • Analyze business needs to define IT solutions.
  • Facilitate/participate in business needs specification workshops to specify IT solutions.
  • Carry out impact analyzes and effort estimates to recommend, have approved, then document the IT solution using effective methods and interacting with both business domain users and the IT project team.
  • Support the development of solutions and technical analyzes carried out.
  • Support quality assurance activities and acceptance testing.
  • Support the Product Manager in defining and prioritizing the product backlog.
  • Document user stories so that they are understood by designers and the QA team.
  • Identify and communicate impacts on business processes in order to support change management in business units in a train-the-trainer mode.
  • Build and maintain functional, robust, precise and accessible documentation for all company stakeholders.

What you bring to the table:


  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, software engineering or any combination of equivalent education and experience.
  • At least 5 to 7 years of relevant experience.
  • Good experience with Oracle databases.
  • Good experience with Snowflake databases (cloud)
  • Experience in data integration (data warehouse and store).
  • Very good knowledge of data extraction, transformation and loading techniques.
  • Very good experience with SQL queries.
  • Good experience with AI agents such as Chat GPT, Cortex code, Rovo.
  • Experience with data modeling, star schema and relational models.
  • Experience with SAS (an asset).
  • Experience with Databricks (an asset).
  • Project experiences with scrum methodology.
  • Experience and knowledge in the insurance field.
  • Mastery of JIRA, CONFLUENCE.
  • For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country.
  • No work experience in Canada required, but must have authorization to work in Canada.
