Job description

The Data Analyst supports Genomics Operations and cross-functional stakeholders by enabling data-driven decision making through the delivery and support of business intelligence and reporting solutions. This role partners with laboratory operations, business leaders, and IT teams to ensure operational data is accurate, accessible, and actionable for performance monitoring, process improvement, and strategic planning. The scope includes reporting and dashboard development, data analytics, data warehouse utilization, reporting governance, and ongoing support of business intelligence platforms used across the organization.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions & Accountabilities:

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, and business intelligence content.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into reporting and analytics solutions.
  • Analyze operational data to identify trends, opportunities, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to the development and application of reporting standards, best practices, and performance optimization techniques.
  • Support data integrity, reporting accuracy, and ongoing enhancement of business intelligence solutions.
  • Provide break/fix support during and outside of business hours.
  • Manage projects from initiation through completion, maintaining timelines and delivering results on schedule.
  • Work closely with end users, peer developers, and cross-functional teams to support operational objectives.
  • Maintain data dictionary and documentation related to dashboard generation and associated calculations.

Travel: None anticipated.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

MS Power BI. Includes ability to gather requirements, design, develop, maintain BI solutions, including reports and dashboards.

Hands-on experience with database warehouse tools.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills to collaborate across departments

  • Experience partnering with IT and business analysts on data systems, reporting tools, or dashboards strongly preferred

Comfortable with managing change in a dynamic lab environment with shifting priorities, new technologies, and growth demands

Assist in the writing of business requirements for new reports or dashboard development.

Ability to work in environmental conditions typical in office and clinical laboratory environments

Time split between laboratory areas and office/meeting spaces

Experience:

  • 2+ years MS Power BI
  • Hand-on experience with SQL and/or other database warehouse tools
  • Experience with Operational Data
  • Hands-on experience with laboratory/manufacturing data systems, reporting tools, or analytics pipelines used to support quality or process monitoring

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, or related field preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience may be considered.
