Job description

We are looking for an experienced, professional, and outgoing PT Specimen Collector for the Phoenix, Arizona area.

Work Schedule & Details

  • Schedule: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. 6:30 am-4:30 pm
  • Non-Benefit Eligible Position.

Specimen Collector Responsibilities:

To perform this job an individual must be able to perform each essential duty to a satisfactory standard. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Ensure that all patient paperwork is filled out correctly and all necessary information has been captured at the time of the collection
  • Update and maintain patient information and records as necessary while, ensuring patients complete privacy. Observing HIPPA regulations while using laboratory information system.
  • Perform and follow specimen (urine and saliva) collections protocols for specimen collection.
  • Conducts directly observed urine specimen collections for male patients in a rehabilitation setting, ensuring compliance with clinical protocols
  • Monitor and maintain supplies and supply records for all clinic needs. Communicating to lab any supplies requested in a timely manner.
  • Securely and safely package specimens for pick up by the lab's courier service.
  • Follow general work protocols regarding breaks and cell phone usage during business hours.
  • Adherence to all clinic policies and OSHA standards/policies

Education and or Experience:

  • HS Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in Customer Service
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a Similar Role, such as a Laboratory or Medical Office working with Specimens.

Skills:

  • Be dependable and extremely well organized
  • Strong work ethic, commitment to completing assigned tasks and dedicated to high-quality work
  • Outstanding attention to details, ability to multitask and the ability to complete the job without any errors
  • Ability to work with patients in a professional and compassionate manner
  • Ability to communicate well with the clinic's provider and laboratory management
  • Be able to work independently with minimal supervision

Experience:

  • Customer service: 1 year (Required)
  • Specimen Collection in a Lab/Medical Office: 1 year (Required)
