Floyd Valley Healthcare in Le Mars, IA has a full-time (40 hours per week) position in our Laboratory Department for a Laboratory Assistant.

Laboratory Assistant Responsibilities:
  • The Lab Assistant duties include, but are not limited to: performing phlebotomy, drug and alcohol testing, operating and maintaining waived lab equipment.
  • Takes lab orders from physician's offices. Request faxed orders with diagnosis and signatures. Notifies providers of orders that do not meet lab criteria.
  • Represents the laboratory by screening incoming telephone calls; recording and transmitting messages; scheduling, receiving, and announcing scheduled patients and visitors.

Requirements:
  • Two years of clinical Lab experience is preferred.
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • BLS a plus; certification is required as an employee.
  • Mandatory Reporter training certificate a plus; certification is required as an employee.
