Description:

You would be responsible for providing clerical and telephone support to facilitate the efficient operation of the Laboratory Department. Must be able to handle difficult calls and provide information to physicians inquiring about their patients. Duties also include regulatory and compliance responsibilities, maintaining files, scheduling and registration of lab work, preparation of documents, attending lab meetings and preparing meeting minutes, ordering supplies, filing, copying, and any other clerical duties as assigned.

What You Will Do:

  • Provides clerical and telephone support

  • Acts as the liaison between the laboratory and the clients.

  • Fulfills all regulatory and compliance responsibilities, i.e., CAP, DPH & CLIA certifications and licensure records are up to date.

  • Maintains all employee files to comply with regulatory standards.

  • Performs clerical revisions and typing of current and new policy and procedure manuals.

  • Records and distributes all laboratory meeting minutes.

  • Manages laboratory supplies related to section (PeopleSoft and Staples).

  • Assists in registration of lab work as needed.

  • Faxes lab results to clients.

  • Organizes and files CAP PT surveys.

  • Assists in mail delivery and specimen transport.

  • Schedules Courier services to Outreach facilities.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Hours:

  • 40 hours, Day Shifts

Minimum Requirements:

  • Position requires educational level of High School Diploma or equivalent. Associate's degree in a health-related field, preferred.

  • Three (3) years of administrative/clerical experience in a healthcare setting preferred.

  • Strong administrative and clerical skills including proficiency in computer skills including MS Excel, MS Word, and PowerPoint.

  • Ability to communicate with all levels of staff, outside providers and patients effectively and professionally. Excellent telephone demeanor.

  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills required.
