ABOUT US:
At CPH our progressive Laboratory provides round-the-clock coverage in both the clinical and outpatient departments using current technology which includes the following specialties: Hematology, Chemistry, Blood Bank, Coagulation, Microbiology, PCR, and Mycobiology. The Laboratory provides services to a strong and variable physician community including Oncology, Orthopaedics, OB/GYN, and Spine. A strong quality and compliance program is evident throughout our organization.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Laboratory Assistant performs phlebotomy procedures on patients of all ages in a lab that operates 24 hours a day, 7 days week; offering all inpatient, outpatient, and offsite services. Performs waived testing, specimen processing, and package preparation. Is proficient in legal procedures for chain of custody specimens. Provides patients with accurate collection instructions and equipment for all bodily fluids. Delivers accurate, efficient, and timely reception and clerical support in a fast paced ever-changing laboratory. Excels in an environment where multiple people must work as a team and have a strong focus on customer and patient satisfaction. Efficiently handles all duties and responds to emergent situations in a calm and professional manner using a positive approach and attitude.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Proficiency with computers
  • Comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology is required
  • Must be able to work all shifts including nights, weekends and holidays

PREFERRED:
  • Experience in medical office, phlebotomy, specimen collection, processing and packaging
  • National Phlebotomy certification
