Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab Technologist requiring ARRT certification and 1-2 years of experience for a Cardiac Cath Lab position.

Details
  • Work in a Cardiac Cath Lab setting
  • Adult and geriatric cardiac catheterization patient population
  • Perform roles including computer operator, scrub assistant, second circulator, and recovery technician
  • Procedures include pacemaker insertions, balloon pump insertions, and cutting balloon prep
  • Familiarity with Shockwave and CIS technology preferred
  • 5x8 schedule, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday
  • 48-hour shifts are not available for this position
  • Call required to cover Cath Lab as well as hybrid call involving vascular work and x-ray assistance
  • Must reside within 30 minutes of the hospital when on call
  • Approximately 11-12 call days per month when fully staffed, up to 13-14 when short staffed
Requirements
  • Associate's Degree from an accredited school of Radiologic Technology required
  • Current ARRT certification required (RCIS alone will not suffice)
  • Current registration in the state of Kentucky required
  • BLS and ACLS certification required
  • Completion of a Basic Arrhythmia Course required
  • Minimum 1-2 years of Cath Lab experience required
  • One year of invasive vascular experience preferred
  • License required if applicable
Additional Information
  • Assist circulating RN with assessment and implementation of care for cardiovascular lab patients
  • Recognize drugs and lab values that may contraindicate Cath procedures and relay information to appropriate personnel
  • Document patient demographics and procedural information accurately in the medical record
  • Continuously monitor and analyze hemodynamic data and waveforms
  • Assist scrub personnel with equipment acquisition and setup while maintaining sterile technique
  • Serve as first-line assist to the physician during procedures
  • Properly dispose of biohazardous materials and contaminated equipment
  • Calculate valve areas and shunts
  • Assist physicians and RNs in managing emergency situations, including coordinating emergency transfers per hospital policy
  • Assist with medication access and administration on and off the sterile field
  • Monitor and assess radiation safety in accordance with code of practice guidelines
  • Recognize and communicate initial changes in patient vital signs and physical condition to the care team
