Tareen Dermatology is committed to providing compassionate, state-of-the-art dermatologic care with an emphasis on early diagnosis, patient education, and comprehensive skincare. We are seeking an experienced phlebotomist who is passionate about patient care and thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment. The Clinical Lab Assistant/Phlebotomist supports our providers by performing phlebotomy, specimen processing, patient preparation, and minor clinical procedures. This role helps ensure efficient patient flow, accurate documentation, and excellent patient care.
Qualifications
Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a healthcare, laboratory, or patient care setting
  • Previous phlebotomy experience, including venipuncture and specimen collection
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
  • Experience documenting patient information in an Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
  • Strong communication, organization, and computer skills
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Preferred
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant, Phlebotomy Technician, Clinical Laboratory Assistant, or related healthcare training program
  • Current Phlebotomy Certification (CPT, PBT, or equivalent)
  • 1-2 years of phlebotomy experience in a clinic, medical office, hospital, or laboratory
  • Dermatology or specialty clinic experience
  • Experience with specimen processing, patch testing, suture removal, or assisting with minor procedures
What You'll Do
  • Perform venipuncture and blood collection while ensuring patient comfort and safety
  • Label, process, and prepare specimens for laboratory testing and transport
  • Prepare patients for blood draws, patch testing, and suture removal appointments
  • Perform suture and staple removals
  • Apply and document allergy patch testing
  • Verify patient information and accurately document visits in the EMR
  • Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked laboratory and clinical areas
  • Monitor laboratory inventory and assist with ordering supplies
  • Follow HIPAA, OSHA, infection control, and safety protocols
  • Communicate professionally and compassionately with patients and staff
  • Travel to satellite clinic locations as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned
