Job description

Business Health Solutions, PC is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Occupational Health Technician / Medical Assistant to join our team at a large corporate partner site in Midland, Michigan. What You'll Do


Clinical Duties:

  • Perform phlebotomy, process lab samples, and collect urine specimens
  • Conduct audio, vision, pulmonary function, and respirator fit tests
  • Execute EKGs and drug/alcohol testing following federal and company protocols
  • Upload test results and documentation into the EMR system


Administrative Tasks:

  • Schedule testing appointments and maintain accurate records
  • Answer phones, greet patients, and support front desk coverage
  • Process incoming/outgoing mail and scan paperwork into EMR
  • Assist with campaign reviews, prepare testing folders, and restock supplies


Schedule Options

  • Standard 40-Hour Week: Mon–Fri 7:00am–3:30pm (No overtime)


Who You Are

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Detail-oriented and able to multitask efficiently

Qualifications

  • BLS Certification required
  • Certified Breath Alcohol Technician
  • Certified Urine Drug Testing Collector
  • Certified Medical Assistant
  • Experience in Medical Surveillance / Workers Compensation Case Management 
  • Ability to organize, plan, work independently, and manage multiple responsibilities
  • Ability to use and learn technology like Microsoft programs and other tools
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • 3-5 years of MA experience
  • 2-5 years of occupational health MA experience

Competencies Required:

    • Knowledge of anatomy & physiology, toxicology, health promotion, lifestyle risk factors, and ergonomics.
    • Certification in Hearing Conservation and Spirometry is desirable.
    • Familiarity with epidemiology, safety, industrial hygiene, wellness, and behavioral change theory.
    • Emotional intelligence: self-awareness, self-regulation, empathy, and motivation.
