Job description

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Lab Instructor-Radiology Education Trainer for a Contract assignment with one of our premier Healthcare clients in San Francisco, CA .
Responsibilities :
The program is staffing six (6) Lab Instructor positions to facilitate six 3-hour laboratory sessions per week: three (3) sections of Introduction to Patient Care and three (3) sections of Introduction to Radiography, with approximately six (6) students per lab. This small-group model supports close supervision, adequate access to equipment, and hands-on skill development for every student. Instructors may be assigned to one or both lab types based on qualifications, experience, and program need.
  • The Lab Instructor is responsible for delivering hands-on, face-to-face laboratory instruction in the 18-month program, guiding students through the psychomotor and applied skills they must master before demonstrating clinical competency. Working under the direction of the Program Director and in coordination with the Clinical Coordinator, Lab Instructors facilitate small-group laboratory sessions-approximately six students each-in Introduction to Patient Care and Introduction to Radiography. Instructors demonstrate and supervise energized and non-energized laboratory practice, reinforce radiation-safety and patient-care principles, and evaluate students' skill acquisition in a safe, equitable, and well-supervised environment consistent with JRCERT Standards, including the 1:1 student-to-equipment ratio for laboratory practice.
Required Skills :
  • Associate's degree in radiologic technology or a related field (or equivalent experience / training).
  • Current, unrestricted ARRT certification and registration in Radiography - R(R).
  • Current California Radiologic Technologist (CRT) / state radiologic technology license.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification for healthcare providers.
  • Applied clinical knowledge of radiographic positioning, equipment operation, image production, and patient-care skills sufficient to demonstrate and supervise laboratory practice.
  • Knowledge of radiation-safety and patient-safety principles, including ALARA, shielding, collimation, infection control, and safe patient handling.
  • Familiarity with JRCERT Standards applicable to laboratory instruction, including the 1:1 student-to-equipment ratio and direct-supervision expectations.
  • Skill in demonstrating psychomotor techniques and in evaluating students' skill acquisition with objective, documented criteria.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for small-group instruction, feedback, and student support.
  • Ability to manage a safe, organized, and equitable laboratory environment for small student groups.
  • Ability to align laboratory activities with didactic content and program learning outcomes.
  • Proficiency with standard office software and learning-management/clinical-tracking platforms.
