M&PT Lab Tech Analyst

Company:

Boeing Aerospace Operations

Boeing's Materials and Processes Technology team in San Antonio, Texas is seeking a highly motivated, self-starting, and energetic individual to join its laboratory team as a M&PT Lab Technical Analyst. This role will support all San Antonio programs as well as the research and development lab activities, including shipside support, and technology implementation to the programs.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Evaluates parts, materials, processes, technology or equipment through research and testing to ensure safety, reliability and adherence to requirements and specifications
  • Analyzes failed parts and processes to reduce or eliminate future failures
  • Generates test plans, identifies and categorizes failures, determines root cause and documents results and recommendations
  • Proposes, develops and validates revisions to procedures and specifications
  • Determines suitability of parts, materials and processes and coordinates resolution of issues with suppliers and customers
  • Supports continuous improvement of products and processes by designing, developing, fabricating, testing, evaluating and implementing new concepts and technology
  • Provides knowledge and technical consultation to internal and external customers

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years' experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications (e.g., blueprint/schematic reading, specification, change, design)
  • 3+ years' experience operating conventional machine tools producing metal parts
  • 1+ year of experience collecting, organizing, and analyzing data, then summarizing findings
  • Experience with handling chemicals and/or hazardous materials
  • Ability to assist in developing conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources
  • 1+ year of experience with industry, military and government specifications, handbooks and standards
  • Experience with hand tools and/or hand-held power tools

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience with operating precision analytical laboratory instrumentation
  • Active Security Clearance
  • Active Yankee White Clearance
  • Experience working in a Machine shop
  • Experience with instrument analysis
  • Experience with 3D modeling and printing
  • Experience troubleshooting problems
  • Experience with process improvement activities and rapid solution development

Typical Education/Experience:

Mid-level (Level 3):

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor+1 years' related work experience, 5 years' related work experience, etc.).
