Raymond Laborde Correctional Center is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented individual to join the team in the Nursing Department as a Practical Nurse-Licensed. You could join the group of other medical professionals who perform the nursing and care of inmates within a state correctional facility. Learn to manage a wide spectrum of conditions, from emergency response and acute trauma to chronic disease, wound care, and mental health.

Minimum Qualifications Possession of a current Louisiana Practical Nurse license, a temporary permit, or a multi-state license issued by a Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC/eNLC) state. Job Duties and Other Information Job Duties: Medication administration to the inmate population Transcribe providers' orders as prescribe Assessments of inmates Draw labs on inmates Respond to inmate emergencies as needed Position-Specific Details: Appointment Type: PROBATION, or PROMOTION OF A PERMANENT, CLASSIFIED LOUISIANA STATE EMPLOYEE Current permanent status classified LA State employees may be required to accept a probational appointment if accepted. An employee selected for a promotion may be required to serve a trial detail prior to being permanently promoted. This posting may also be used to fill a vacancy as a temporary job appointment.

If filled as a temporary job appointment, should a permanent position become available, the employee may be converted to a probational appointment. Compensation: This position has a Special Entrance Rate (SER) at each level. However, the salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.

Practical Nurse--Licensed 1 has an SER of $19.48 per hour Practical Nurse--Licensed 2 has an SER of $20.84 per hour Practical Nurse--Licensed 3 has an SER of $22.30 per hour This position also offers premium pay: A rate of $5.00 per hour for each hour worked, in addition to regular pay. Career Progression Group: PRACTICAL NURSE--LICENSED 1, 2, OR 3 Filled at the highest level of experience of the selected applicant. Salary depends on level of experience
