8th Avenue Food & Provisions is a growing organization made up of businesses that produce and sell quality products including peanut butter, granola, and fruit and nut trail mixes to retail, foodservice and ingredient customers. The company was formed in October 2018 through a combination of Post Holdings' private brands businesses and is owned by Post Holdings and funds affiliated with Thomas H. Lee Partners, L.P. ("THL"), a private equity firm.

Position Summary:

Our 8 th Avenue Warehouse Associates play a valuable role in the movement of raw materials and finished goods within and between facility locations and customer trucks. This team uses established policies, procedures, and standards in the areas of people safety, food safety, allergen control, FIFO, cycle counting, and GMPs to safely and accurately move inventory and monitor inventory levels for our organization. Keeping safety front-of-mind, it is also our Warehouse Associates responsibility to inspect and audit work areas and powered industrial trucks, and to submit corrective actions and follow up needs in a timely fashion.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Use first-in, first-out (FIFO) procedures to pick items for work orders to build kits (Warehouse) and/or shipments to customers (DC)

  • Follow allergen policies and procedures and execute processes to ensure control in picking, returning, transportation, or storage of allergen product

  • In support of inventory accuracy, ensure DSI barcode transactions are completed according to policies and procedures and check empty locations and perform cycle counts to validate expected and actual inventory levels

  • Perform daily GMP and food safety audits of assigned work area according to established audit procedures, note discrepancies submit to lead for corrective actions via work order process or another follow-up, as needed

  • Perform daily powered industrial truck inspections (PIT) according to established policies and procedures; submit issues to warehouse administrator to ensure proper and timely repairs

  • Safely load customer trucks per established requirements and load kits and ingredients into company trailers according to standards

  • Safely unload raw materials and/or kits from trucks into the plant location and assign to appropriate area. For distribution center positions, safely unload finished goods and assign to appropriate area

  • Perform recycling and waste disposal activities both inside the plant and across our property

  • Responsible for taking necessary action on all food safety and quality problems reported or observed

  • Other duties, as assigned

Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution

  • Previous food manufacturing experience

  • Previous experience with powered industrial trucks (PIT)

  • Previous experience with warehouse management systems (scanners, etc.)

  • Previous experience with ERP system (JDE strongly preferred)

Physical Requirements: Qualified applicants must be able to perform the following physical job requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation:

  • Must be able to lift to 55 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift.

  • Must be able to reach, grasp, and make fast, repeated movements of fingers, hands, and wrists throughout the shift.

  • Must be able to perform work at or above shoulder height for short periods of time throughout the shift.

  • Must be able to push, pull, bend, stretch, twist, and/or reach throughout shift.

  • Must be able to distinguish between sounds, such as forklift horns, fire alarms, machine signals, etc.

  • Must be able to work in hot, humid, and cold manufacturing environment.

  • Must be comfortable working in dusty environments.

  • Must be able to distinguish between sounds, such as forklift horns, fire alarms, machine signals, etc.

  • Must be able to stand and walk for entirety of shift (8 hours).
