Job description

A & M Cheese is a processor and distributor of fine cheeses in the US, and is currently looking for you to fill the role of a Sanitation Worker at our Toledo, OH location and become part of our 2nd shift team.

As a Sanitation Worker, you will be responsible for cleaning and sanitizing equipment in the plant in compliance with customer specifications and with company policy related to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Safety.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and sanitize equipment using hoses, chemicals, and scrubbing.
  • Read chemical labels to ensure safe applications.
  • Manually scrub certain areas of machines using brushes or scrub pads.
  • Cleaning of the production area.
  • Disassembling equipment.
  • Perform all assignments or job tasks according to the stated safety policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices, Policies, and Procedures.
  • Other responsibilities as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • General understanding of manufacturing processes and related equipment.
  • Ability to make decisions based on standard practices.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, troubleshoot, and problem-solve.
  • Basic understanding of sanitation processes and related equipment.
  • Ability to run sanitation equipment.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and communicate safety labels on chemical containers.
  • Ability to constantly stand/walk; bend/flex/extend neck; frequently grip/reach/lift/pull with L/R hands.
  • Hair nets, earplugs/muffs, and/or safety glasses may be required.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed with little or no notice.

Schedule - 2nd Shift

  • Monday - Thursday 12:00 pm – 9:30 pm
  • Fridays as needed.
