Job description

Job Summary:
The Project Lead - DAS will act as the on-site coordinator and supervisor of several Crew Leads - DAS for installation projects. The Project Lead - DAS's tasks will include ensuring job completion according to company and customer quality and safety requirements while maintaining the efficiency of the staff assigned to the project.
General Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • The Project Lead - DAS will consistently run major project crews, assume responsibility for effective performance and provide necessary training, assume responsibility for adherence to Company and customer safety and quality guidelines and hold weekly safety meetings, initiate performance-related communications and escalate to Project Manager if necessary.
  • Coordinates with Project Manager/Project Lead to ensure productivity, job completion and compliance with project budget.
  • Fully completes all IES Communications, LLC. and project paperwork accurately and on time (specifically timesheets, material transfers, work orders, change orders, tool transfers and others as required).
  • Performs quality checks
  • Serves as main on-site customer contact for questions and/or concerns; attend facility and construction meetings when required.
  • Performs work consistently demonstrating a detailed level of technical knowledge; troubleshoot and resolve technical issues as they arise.
  • Completes other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications
Physical and Mental Requirements:
  • Must be self-motivated, positive in approach, professional and lead others to create, develop and implement project process improvement(s).

  • Must have proven problem-solving skills, critical thinking skills and the ability to effectively read, write and give oral presentation(s).
  • Must be able to work at heights, off a ladder and in confined spaces, lift up to 50 pounds and move up to 75 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand and walk large job sites regularly.
  • Must be able to see and distinguish different colors, read small print and hear and recognize audible signals such as dial tones
  • Must be enthusiastic, passionate, patient and a critical thinker.
  • Must be able to communicate with the customer and have excellent customer service skills.
  • Must be able to travel within branch territory and/or regional territory as needed.
  • Regular Attendance is mandatory.

Education, Certification, License, and Skill Requirements:
  • Must possess at least a High School diploma or GED equivalency.
  • Must possess a minimum of three (3) years of experience in telecommunications or related technical field.
  • Experience with common DAS Equipment including Fiber DAS, Repeaters, Coaxial Cable, CAT 5 Cable, Antennas, Splitters, Fiber Cable, etc.
  • Must have a FCC General Radiotelephone Operator License (G.R.O.L.) or be able to obtain one within two weeks of hire.
  • 3 years of experience in telecommunications field with strong emphasis in DAS. 5 years' experience in the processes and requirements of integrating public safety and cell carrier and technologies into an in-building coverage system.
  • Must possess a minimum of twelve (12) months' supervisory and/or managerial experience.
  • Proficient and experienced with the commissioning process of multiple manufacturers such as ADRF Technologies and Comba Telecom, CommScope, SOLiD Tech, and Corning.
  • Proficient in the use of spectrum analyzers including Keysight/Agilent, Anritsu models, and/or PCTel.
  • Experience with PIM testing required.
  • Working knowledge of RF test equipment such as an Anritsu tester or similar spectrum analyzer.
