Job Title: Facilities Janitor (Part-Time)

Department: Facilities 

Reports To: Facilities Manager

FLSA Status: Non-exempt

Location: Murrieta, CA


SUMMARY

Under general supervision, we are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Facilities Janitor to maintain the cleanliness and overall upkeep of our facilities. The ideal candidate will be responsible for cleaning, sanitizing, and ensuring the safety of the workplace environment. The Facilities Janitor plays an integral role in providing a safe and clean environment for employees, visitors, and clients.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversees cleaning, organizing of facilities to maintain the premium image of our company.
  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, including fixtures, partitions, floors and mirrors; replenish soap and paper goods. 
  • Sweep, mop, dust, and clean all areas of the facility, including offices, restrooms, hallways, stairways, break rooms, and kitchens. 
  • Disinfect high-touch surfaces, such as doorknobs, light switches, and countertops. 
  • Empty trash and recycling bins and ensure proper disposal of waste. 
  • Restock restroom supplies, such as toilet paper, soap, and paper towels. 
  • Clean windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces to ensure clarity and cleanliness. 
  • Vacuum carpets, clean and polish floors, and handle floor care duties (including waxing and buffing) as needed. 
  • Ensure that carpets and floors are properly maintained and report any damage or maintenance issues.
  • Follow cleaning procedures to maintain a safe environment and reduce risks of contamination or accidents.
  • Identify and report any unsafe conditions, including water leaks, hazardous waste, or broken equipment.
  • Maintain cleaning equipment and supplies, ensuring they are in working condition and stored safely.
  • Ensure that public spaces, entrances, and exits are tidy, welcoming, and safe. 
  • Support facilities management with occasional tasks such as event setup, moving furniture, or assisting with special projects. 
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness throughout all shifts, ensuring the facility always remains clean.

Requirements

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Generally, a minimum of one (1) to two (2) years of experience in previous janitorial or custodial experience is preferred, but not required. 

  • Familiarity with cleaning chemicals, equipment, and safety procedures is a plus.
  • Experience operating a forklift and pallet jack is preferred but not required. 
  • Clean driving record required.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma required.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to follow procedures according to Company specifications.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline driven and constantly changing environment.
  • Excellent organization skills 
  • Ability to prioritize workload, meet deadlines and understand when to escalate potential issues.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to use tact and diplomacy; must be team player.
  • Must be self-motivated with ability to use own initiative. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organization skills and apt for attention to detail
  • Knowledge of the motorcycle industry; Passionate about the motorcycle industry.

JUDGEMENT/REASONING ABILITY: Ability to recognize discrepancies and resolve problems quickly using sound judgment, poise, and diplomacy. Requires ability to use judgment and reasoning skills and determine when issues need to be escalated.

The employee is frequently required to sit; use hands and fingers, bend, stoop, lift, squat, and reach with hands and arms.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Will work in a variety of settings, including offices, restrooms, and common areas.
  • Must be able to work in all conditions.
  • Professional, yet casual office work environment.
  • Ability to work modified hours as required.
