About the Job
Ruan is hiring Class A CDL drivers to be based in Salem, VA, to haul groceries in a reefer trailer for our dedicated customer, Kroger. Drivers on this account will assist with an electric pallet jack. Receive company benefits, plus pension, while driving for a union operation. Pay
Get paid weekly with activity-based pay at $0.66 cents per mile, $44 for the first stop, and $27.80 per hour. Get annual pay increases. Earn an average of $1,900 per week and $100,000 per year.
Schedule
Be home daily with a minimum 34 hour reset during the week. This position holds a guaranteed 44-hour workweek with weekends required. Local and regional routes are provided on a "first in, first out" schedule with resets done at home. Drivers are on call until midnight before their scheduled day off. This operation has seniority-based route bids twice per year.
Equipment
Haul groceries in a reefer trailer and assist with an electric pallet jack.

Minimum Requirements
  • Must be at least 22 years or older
  • No more than three moving violations in the past three years (some restrictions apply)
  • No more than one DOT recordable preventable accident in the last three years
  • With the Department of Transportation's Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse in effect, all applicants must create a profile at fmcsa.dot.gov before being hired
  • 9 months of tractor-trailer experience within the past three years
  • Must be able to read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, understand highway traffic signs and signals in English, respond to official inquiries, and make entries on reports and records
  • Additional qualifications will apply
