Job description

About the Role:
CBRE Union Engineer - Purchase, NY (Westchester County)
Join CBRE's Engineering & Technical Services team and build your career at a premier site in Purchase, NY, one of Westchester County's most desirable business communities.
As a CBRE Union Engineer, you'll play a critical role in maintaining the reliability, performance, and safety of sophisticated building systems. Working alongside a skilled team of professionals, you'll be responsible for equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and instrument calibration activities that support seamless facility operations.
This position is part of CBRE's Engineering & Technical Services function, where our professionals deliver world-class preventive maintenance, technical support, and repair services across critical building infrastructure and mechanical systems. You'll have the opportunity to work with advanced equipment, expand your technical expertise, and contribute to a high-performing environment that values safety, innovation, and professional growth.
What You'll Do:
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and restore routine technical service and equipment.
  • Address major network problems impacting multiple business locations, major network elements, or site outages. Verify all documentation is accurate and maintained.
  • Maintain routine maintenance schedules, system configurations, technical reference materials, etc.
  • Participate in user training of system and application updates/enhancements. Create training documentation.
  • Apply in-depth knowledge of standard principles and techniques/procedures to accomplish complex assignments and provide innovative solutions.
  • Coach others and share in-depth knowledge of own job discipline and broad knowledge of several job disciplines within the function.
  • Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Work to build consensus and convince others to reach an agreement.
  • Impact a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities within own team and other related teams.
  • Work within broad guidelines and policies.
  • Explain difficult or sensitive information.
What You'll Need:
  • High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4-5 years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered. Prior shift manager or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
  • Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
  • Willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.

The pay range for this position is subject to an applicable
Collective Bargaining Agreement. The negotiated rate for the Union position is
$51.52 per hour. Please refer to the Collective Bargaining Agreement regarding pay scale
