Duration: 6 months (Full-time)
Hourly Rate: $16.00
Location: New York, NY
Start: April or May 2024
DESIGN RESPONSIBILITIES:
All positions will be based strongly around the following responsibilities (dependent upon the account & team dynamics)
ACCOUNT (DEPARTMENT)-FOCUSED:
  • Exploring and developing CAD skills (Prints, Color, Trend reports, Technical flats, Presentation line sheets)
  • Researching and analyzing trends in Color, Print, Pattern. Stitch, Yarn and Embellishment.
  • Seasonal Retail Reports (Researching retail and cultural trends, follow up and presentation)
  • Creating mood and concept boards using Runway, relevant Social Media and Design Research
  • Spec'ing (measurements, layouts, yarn and color) and participation in technical fittings
  • Yarn, Embroidery, Knitdown and Stitch research and development
  • Sourcing (Yarn, Buttons, Beads, Trims and other Design components)
  • Shopping, logging and returning conceptual Buy Samples and styling& altering silhouettes as needed
  • Visual Merchandising including showroom set ups & styling for presentations, validation handouts & look-books for customers
  • Attending Team meetings and Account presentations
  • Compiling tech packs, master sheets and drawing layouts to send to Hong Kong Team.

ADMINISTRATIVE:
  • Entering data into various systems and ensuring the integrity of the information
  • Formatting documents (Powerpoint, Word, Excel)
  • Performs general support duties including photocopying, organizing materials (binders, files, folders, filing etc), maintaining spec and sourcing folders
  • Daily communication with Hong Kong office via email including sending out styles
  • Sending packages to accounts as necessary
  • Logging in-house development and sample tracking & returning Buy samples
  • Maintaining showrooms and closets

Requirements:
  • Ability to use initiative
  • Professional, verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong CAD skills - Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Detail orientated

  • Willingness to learn and dedication
  • Understanding of knitted garment construction
  • Building strong relationship with peers
