About the Role:

The Production Superintendent is responsible for monitoring and directing all operations for production lines. This includes the full value stream from raw materials to finished goods within the facility. The Production Superintendent particularly focuses on safely producing high quality products in line with established production standards. This role serves as the main point of contact in the absence of the Production Manager.  

Responsibilities
  • Embody, engage, model, and ensure safety throughout the site.
  • Uphold all Health, Safety, Environmental, Energy and Quality in compliance with the law and ISO standards.
  • Manage Plant workforce for the crew assigned. Lead and mentor all primary workforce within the building during time onsite.
  • Lead Daily Shift Communication Meetings with the off-going shift leadership team and with the on-coming shift at the end of shift.
  • Delegate work assignments/projects based on priorities, keeping Safety as the highest priority.
  • Offer performance feedback to employees, both positive and constructive including formal performance evaluations.
  • Review production schedule and ensure the proper people are assigned to the appropriate job tasks.
  • Address adjustments to schedule and communicate adjustments to others as needed.
  • Monitor operating performances of equipment and contact maintenance for needed repairs, adjustments or troubleshooting.
  • Prepare all necessary paperwork and record keeping for shift.
  • Successfully complete own standard work and audit standard work and 6s for all on shift.
  • Successfully communicate and escalate as appropriate to various levels within the organization.
  • Maintain employee timecards or other payroll activities with minimal error.
  • Main point of contact for employee relations, training, mentoring, and overall employee experience for the team assigned.
  • Participate in professional development as tailored to the individual.
  • Embody and foster company culture and be an ambassador of Knauf core values.
  • Participate in the interview process of primary workforce staff and otherwise and communicate staffing needs.
  • Develop and mentor Supervisors and primary workforce for succession planning.
  • Lead Root Cause investigations for safety and other topics.
  • Promote a continuous improvement culture, bringing fresh ideas and participating in solution finding.
  • Drives the highest levels of employee retention and engagement to ensure a sustainable workforce.
  • Fosters a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability within the organization.
  • Instill an environment of inclusion, where all employees feel that they can contribute and impact the company in a positive manner.
  • All other duties as assigned
Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Management or related field preferred
  • Lean Certification preferred

Experience:

  • Minimum five (5) to eight (8) years of production experience in an industrial manufacturing facility
  • Minimum three (3) to five (5) years of management experience in a similar environment
