Our maintenance operations is comprised of professional engineers, certified quality control inspectors, and experienced maintenance technicians with proficiency developing and executing highway infrastructure maintenance contracts throughout the United States. Position summary: Roy Jorgensen Associates, Inc. is currently seeking full-time Maintenance Technician III - Crew Leader to perform maintenance operations in the Brunswick area.

This position is an advanced technical and skilled role within our field organization. The Maintenance Technician III - Crew leader is most likely assigned to a skilled crew responsible for increasing difficult maintenance work requiring knowledge of local standards and specifications. This position is most likely assigned as Crew Leader's responsible for completing the Daily Work Reports and managing a crew. Areas of experience could include guardrail and attenuator repair/replacement, signs, equipment operator's, and/or lighting and electrical work.

This position requires performing a variety of tasks related to (highway maintenance, concrete repair, etc.) and adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Jorgensen Company policies and procedures.
Required Experience:
Minimum 1 year of related experience

KNOWLEGDE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES (KSA)

  • various parts of roadway, bridge, drainage structures and other road furniture,
  • types of damage sustained by highway infrastructure due to mechanical wear and environmental conditions,
  • materials used to repair highway infrastructure
  • order of procedure to lift heavy objects
  • correct work methods for various activities required to maintain and repair highway infrastructure

      • Hand Mowing                             Litter/Debris removal
      • Ditch Cleaning by Hand            Skim Patching with Liquid Asphalt

      • Stump Grinding                          Pipe Repair/Placement
      • Leaf Cleanup w/Machine              Bituminous Concrete Curb
      • Bridge Maintenance

Preferred Experience:
Roadway maintenance experience
MOT Certifications
Clean driving record is essential
Must pass criminal background check

Qualifications:

EDUCATION AND TRAINING.

Education:       High School Diploma, some college courses preferred, but not required.

Minimum Years of Relevant Experience:  3-5

Maintain company standards for background checks (i.e. criminal record, driving record and controlled substance/drug testing)
Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations
Carry out simple arithmetic functions
Maintain proper safety equipment required for each job
Knowledge and ability to adapt to the latest technology
Ability to use smart phone and applications
Ability to adjust to changing work schedule
Ability to work safely under ranging environmental and weather conditions
Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds; strenuous manual labor may be required
Ability to operate hand/power tools
