Job description

The Shipping & Receiving Associate is responsible for the accurate, timely, and organized flow of materials entering and leaving the facility. This role manages receiving activities, prepares outbound shipments, supports vendor and customer returns, and provides backup support to Kitting and Material Handling. The position plays a key role in maintaining inventory accuracy, customer satisfaction, and a safe, efficient work environment.

Key Responsibilities

Receiving Operations

  • Process Purchase Orders Report and verify incoming materials
  • Receive raw materials, consumables, and outside services
  • Coordinate vendor RMA returns and ensure proper documentation
  • Print labels, tag materials, and complete all receiving paperwork
  • Put away incoming product in correct locations
  • Coordinate vendor gas inventory and monitor usage
  • Work with Purchasing to resolve receiving variances 

Shipping Operations

  • Conduct weekly review of upcoming shipments
  • Manage weekly shipping schedule and ensure on‑time delivery
  • Arrange trucks and coordinate logistics for outbound shipments
  • Communicate with outside vendors and carriers
  • Process ERP transactions to generate accurate packing lists
  • Handle vendor and customer RMA returns
  • Maintain customer shipping preference data 

Cross‑Department Support

  • Kitting — Backup as Needed
  • Material Handling — Backup as Needed

Safety & Workplace Standards

  • Adhere to 5S practices and maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment at all times
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures 

Other Duties

  • Perform additional tasks as assigned

Experience

  • Prior experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse operations, or material handling
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and basic transaction processing

Education
