Job description

 

Overview
The Logistics Supermarket Supervisor oversees daily operations of the in-house supermarket, ensuring accurate picking, kitting, staging, and timely delivery of materials to production lines. This role manages a team of associates, coordinates material flow, and drives LEAN, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives to support takt-driven production.

 What you'll do

Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:

Team Leadership & Scheduling:

  • Supervise and coach associates in picking, kitting, and line delivery tasks.
  • Assign work based on production schedules and route priorities.
  • Monitor attendance, performance, and compliance with standard work.

Operational Control:

  • Ensure accurate material picking and kitting per BOM and Kanban requirements.
  • Maintain supermarket layout, inventory accuracy, and min/max levels.
  • Oversee milk-run routes and timely delivery to Points-of-Use (POU).

System & Reporting:

  • Manage WMS/ERP transactions for material movements and kit issuance.
  • Track KP's (accuracy, OTD, inventory) and report daily performance.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for shortages, mis-picks, and delivery delays

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for process optimization in the handling, storage, and distribution of material. Look for ways to increase operational efficiency, reduce downtime, and minimize costs.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging team members to suggest improvements to workflows, processes, or equipment. Implement Lean or Six Sigma techniques to enhance efficiency.
  • Address operational issues such as bottlenecks, delays, or inventory discrepancies. Use problem-solving skills to resolve issues quickly and ensure smooth operations.

Safety & Compliance:

  • Enforce safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Investigate and report incidents; implement preventive measures.
  • Ensure team completion of required training and certifications

Location & Travel Expectations:

  • This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Blythewood, South Carolina.
  • The responsibilities of this role require daily attendance in office with in-person meetings and events regularly. 
  • Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

Experience:

  • Warehouse/Logistics Management: At least 4 years of experience in warehouse or logistics management, with a focus on material handling, inventory management, or assembly inhouse logistics line feeding in an automotive manufacturing industry.
  • Team Leadership: Proven experience in leading and managing teams, with the ability to motivate staff and ensure high levels of performance in a fast-paced OEM environment.
  • Inventory Control: Experience with inventory management, including tracking materials, managing stock levels, and ensuring accurate record-keeping of warehouse materials.
  • Process Optimization: Experience with process improvement initiatives, particularly in logistics or warehousing, using methodologies like Lean or Six Sigma to enhance operational efficiency.

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor's Degree: A degree in logistics, supply chain management, business, or a related field. An equivalent amount of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Certifications (Preferred): Certifications in supply chain management (e.g., APICS, Six Sigma, Lean) are a plus.

Skills:

  • Leadership and Team Management: Strong ability to lead, train, and manage a team, ensuring productivity and high morale.
  • Logistics Software: Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS), enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems (e.g., SAP), and other relevant logistics software for inventory tracking and reporting.

Pay Transparency

This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.

Initial base salary range = $95,000.00 - $120,000.00
