This position is classified as Hourly/Full-time at $16.90 /hr. Shift is  10:30 am -7 pm with a rotation of 4/2 (4 days on- 2 days off)


SUMMARY:

The Kitchen Aide supports the cook by helping with meal preparation, serving food, cleaning up after meals, and assisting with any other tasks as needed.


RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Prepare foods and cook meals and snacks for residents according to pre-established menus and in compliance with any special dietary needs of the residents

Ensure the provision of three (3) balanced meals daily, as well as schedules snacks and assuring for the provision of any resident's special dietary needs

Keep kitchen clean and orderly, including cleaning pots, pans, dishes and eating utensils after each meal

Always maintain sanitation and cleanliness in the food preparation areas and shall observe personal hygiene and food services sanitation practices to protect from food contamination

Attend any staff meetings or in service training, as required

Prepare and restock dining rooms for next meal

Perform other duties assigned

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School diploma or equivalent, required

Certificate in food preparation and/or culinary degree, preferred

Prior experience working in food service, preferred

Each employee must have a physical examination and tuberculin test performed by a physician. The tests are to be completed with results within seven (7) days after hire, unless regulations stipulate completion before employment. If the exams are not completed within this timeframe, the employee will be placed on suspension until they are completed.

The Department of Social Services (DSS) licensing agency requires that LiveScan (fingerprinting) be completed on criminal convictions and be submitted for the purpose of conducting a criminal record review. The DDS will issue an approval or denial according to the criminal clearance reports. Approval must be obtained in order to retain employment.

All employees are required to complete a drug screening

All employees must keep their FIRST-AID certification current
