Summary of Job Duties:The Institutional Services Assistant/Kitchen Helper, in conjunction with other assistants and under the direction of a supervisor, cleans dishes, the kitchen area, food preparation equipment, and utensils. The Institutional Services Assistant also removes trash while maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment.
Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects

Responsibilities:

  • Washes dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, or pans using a dishwasher or manually then places the equipment in designated storage areas.

  • Maintains kitchen work areas, floors, equipment, or utensils.

  • Uses and stores chemical and cleaning supplies.

  • Sorts and removes trash, placing it in designated pickup areas and clean/line garbage containers.

  • May perform other duties as assigned.
