JOB SUMMARY
Performs a wide variety of duties to support Food & Nutrition operations. This includes the cleaning / sanitation of food carts following infection prevention procedures. Perform scheduled pickup of trash, patient trays out of rooms and patient carts on floors. Takes trash to dumpster per schedule. Works in the dish room or pot pan area following all infection prevention guidelines. Documents HACCP standards for dishwashing temperatures and litmus strip for pot pan sanitizing sink. Alerts supervisor of variances. Understands and follows all manufacturer recommendations for chemical usage. Assembles and delivers food supplies to non-patient areas in the hospital and off site. Keeps areas clean and neat.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High school graduate, GED or the equivalent of work related experience
Licensure: None
Experience: Previous experience as an institutional dishwasher, porter or kitchen helper helpful but not required.

PHYSICAL, MENTAL, ENVIRONMENTAL AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Works in a typical institution cafeteria setting subject to the hazards associated with such an environment including wet surfaces, cleaning and cooking equipment, and sharp instruments. Moderate amount of lifting, stooping and standing. Extended periods of standing or walking are required. Moderate lifting (50lbs.), pushing and pulling of food carts.
